Message from Vice Chancellor
Professor Enyonam Yao Kwawukume, founder of Family Health University and the President of Family Health Medical School. He is also the Inaugural Professor and Chair, K. K. Bensti-Enchill Chair, College of Health Sciences, UG Legon. In recognition of his significant contribution to teaching and research in the area of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Professor Enyonam Yao Kwawukume was elected an Honorary Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (ACOG).
He was the Former Head of Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, School of Medicine and Dentistry, Korle Bu, as well as the Past Chairman of West African College of Surgeons, WACS (Obst. & Gynae); he is also the immediate past President of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Ghana (SOGOG).
Professor Enyonam Yao Kwawukume is the first in the world to perform Bloodless Myomectomy at Caesarean Section with a tourniquet; and he is also the Co-inventor of the Medical Eligibility Criteria WHEEL for Reproductive Health and Family Planning, which was adopted by WHO for the world.
