Matriculation and Graduation Ceremony

FAMILY HEALTH UNIVERSITY COLLEGE HOLDS 2019 MATRICULATION AND GRADUATION CEREMONY

The Family Health University College officially welcomed the newly admitted Medical and Nursing and Midwifery students to the institution, and commended the graduating students from both Schools, at the 2019 Matriculation and Graduation ceremony, which took place on Thursday, 12th December, 2019.

 The ceremony which saw the attendance of dignitaries, including Dr. Anthony Nsiah Asare, the Special Advisor on Health to the President of the Republic of Ghana, who served as the Special Guest of Honour at the occasion, Brig. Gen Dan Frimpong (Rtd.), the Council Chairman of the Family Health University College, the Chief  of the Teshie Traditional area and his entourage, Prof. Abraham Annang, Director of the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research, who represented the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana, the Commandant of the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College, representatives of the Medical and Dental Council, the National Accreditation Board, Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre and LEKMA Municipal District, Council Members and Management and Faculty of Family Health University College, was hosted on the premise of the Family Health University College.

The President of the Family Health University College, Prof. E. Y Kwawukume, assured all present at the event that the institution would continue to uphold, protect and ensure the peaceful stay of both new and continuing students. He also spoke on the new developments that the institution has embarked on in the past few months; these include, the installation of a water filtration system to alleviate the shortage of water on campus, the reclamation of part of the sea for recreational purposes, and the upgrade of the Nursing and Midwifery School to run a degree programme. Prof. Kwawukume emphasized on the need for students to continue to exhibit their skills with the highest standards of ethics, integrity and compassion when rendering their services in the future.

In his address, Dr. Nsiah Asare commended the Management of the Family Health University College on their efforts. He highlighted on the need for the students to take their education seriously and to strive for excellence in their chosen fields. He also stressed on the fact that the government through the health sector, is committed to ensuring that citizens obtain the health services they need, as a top priority on national health agenda, and that the government is putting measures in place that would benefit both the private and public health education and training institutions.

As pacesetters in providing private medical education to the current generation, and paving the way for the future generation, Family Health University College takes pride in enriching her intellectual and technological environment to nurture exceptionally creative research and education, and with her Mission to be the prime centre for professional medical education and training in the advancement of human health, the institution has adopted modern and efficient methods of teaching for the best outcome, and to produce some of the finest medical personnel in the sub-region.
